Martita and me.
The Church in which Our Lady of Suyapa, patroness of Honduras, appeared. (Maria Santos Martires in the wheelchair has no limbs...sits close to Jesus there everyday!)

<--My bros and sisters...our Missioners community. Que guapos...

So I get a little laughed at because I dance like a member of Nsync. Juan Carlos attempts to teach me Batracha...or was it Merengue?
I was thinking more about the amazing pupusas I had just eaten...

Mj your comments thrill me and also chill me. You have no idea how worried I am for you there. But I do trust you and I trust God has you in the palm of His hand. Love you babe and can not wait to spoil you when you come to sunny Sarasota. Love, MOMMY

Dear MJ,
This is the 3rd time I have tried to write this note. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this time it works.
I love all the pictures of you. You look so happy doing God's difficult work...everyone seems so happy to have you there with them. While we miss you so very much, I know in my heart that you are exactly where you are meant to be. Puppa and I leave tomorrow for Harbor Springs to prepare for many of the family who will join us for Thanksgiving. As we gather around the table we will be thinking of you. holding you close to our hearts, and saying a special prayer for you. Meanwhile, stay well, be safe, and God bless. Can't wait until we see your smiling face at Christmas time!
Love, and warm hugs,
Pookie

MJ - I am so humbled to read about all of the beautiful people that you are serving while you are there. Thank you so much for the photos and updates - so inspirational and hopeful. I love to have faces to put with the names of those I pray for! I keep you and your community in my heart and pray for those you serve, who are truly Christ to us.
With great Love and affection,
Carrie

Meredith, I read with great interest your beautiful reflections on your experiences thus far, and came away inspired. To me, there is no better explanation of what you are doing and why you are doing it than that God is truly within you. I know you believe that, and indeed you seem to be on fire in that belief. No doubt there are days when you feel discouraged...but even on those days, take heart, dear one, that God loves you and those you are helping with a love so fierce...and He will never let go. So you hang tough, girl! Steve Vanderploeg

MJ,

Thanks for the updates. They are truly inspiring. I am so pleased to hear you speak of seeing Jesus in those to whom you minister. That was the message of Sunday's Gospel, the Feast of Christ the King (in the ordinary form calendar). May God continue to bless you and those you serve. And I'm excited to hear that you'll be with family for Christmas. I'm sure you'll have a great time. Be safe!
